I should be at a Tai Thong restaurant somewhere in KL right now but I’m under my covers listening to the sound coming from the speakers.
Happy 60th Birthday Daddy!

I’ve always had problems striking up conversations and find it even harder keeping conversations going. If you’re looking for me to break the silence, I’m clearly not the person to go to.
What’s harder is saying the right things in unfamiliar situations.
What do you say to someone when you know it’s not going to be okay?
How do you say it’s going to be okay when it’s not?
How do you say I know how you feel when you don’t?
Do you lie outright, work every line from the book or just keep silent?
Do you ignore what’s going on and provide a temporary escape?
As kids we can get away with almost anything. Leave it to the adults to deal with. But as we become adults ourselves, it begins to get more difficult to keep silent and ignore completely.
While watching Tom & Jerry, I posed a question to the three-and-half year-old.
Me: What is the witch sitting on?
Caitlin: She is sitting on a witch stick!
on monday i went to the bank for a replacement debit card thinking i’d packed it together with my boxes. got a new atm card instead cos a new debit card would take 2 weeks. found the debit card today (YAY!). now have to figure out the malaysian online banking system. makes no sense when i can’t transfer from one account to the other.
also got my teeth scaled on monday. $#%#&@#@#!$%^%&$#$$
followed mum to the gym on tuesday morning. saw asha gill walk in. she’s the one who does the KLIA welcome video for MAS.
undecided if i should pay rm120 for a month’s gym pass.
walked around the mall while waiting for my mum to finish her workout. FINALLY managed to get hold of jason. got my hair done in the evening. i’m not sure if i like it or hate it.
had dinner with AP at sushi zanmai (!!) = great food + great company (!!)
today, met up with chris for lunch at dragon-i. then spent the afternoon reading the kite runner at borders while waiting for mum to finish her gym session.
went for an evening walk with dad. got bitten by mozzies. stopped by the mamak place for lassi.
ahhh… this is life…
It’s now 5.15am and I’ve been awake for the last hour and a half. I’m desperately craving dim sum and waiting for the parentals to wake up.
It’s now 5.21am and it’s 30C! The house is so warm my cheeks are burning. even the tiles are warm! i took my first cold shower in ages and it felt brilliant.
I nearly missed my bus to Heathrow. otherwise the journey back was pretty uneventful. Terence kindly offered to give me a lift to Quadrant for my bus at 2.30pm. By 2pm, I gave him a call and kept getting his voicemail. Finally managed to get hold of him 15 minutes later. Left the Village at 2.20pm.
And Terence is a rock star. In typical Malaysian fashion, we jumped the queue (Swansea’s road system is also to be blamed) and he drove straight in to the bus area!! We arrived a couple of minutes after 2.30pm and thank GOD the bus hadn’t left yet. If it was a train, confirm no hope already!
When I got to Heathrow, there was NO queue at the check-in desks! So I guess it’s better arriving later to check-in.
And I think if I’d packed 30kgs the Italian dude would have let me through anyways.. haha.. they really know how to make you swoon..
Okay before my stomach starts talking, I’d better go..
